Looking to leverage their 10+ years of experience in the home security systems industry, Star Automation wanted to create a new type of security solution for the market.Star Automation logo

The second-generation security solution would integrate home automation devices with home security systems, into one unified controller. Our team built a series of web applications and services, hybrid mobile apps, and specific native mobile applications for dealer technicians.

These applications were designed with an emphasis on user behavior and psychology.

AWS Enables Agility
Online developed a platform designed for the Cloud. Using a combination of Amazon EC2-based virtual machines and AWS Lambda-based serverless tasks, the team was able to tackle difficult problems quickly with the service appropriate for the use case.

AWS Adds Scalability and Flexibility
Utilizing Amazon S3 and Amazon DynamoDB for storing large files and their metadata provides Star Automation with a lightning-quick yet cost-optimized mobile user experience. The solution was developed so that minimal changes would be required to scale up to meet expected user volumes, and to scale out to meet expected geographic coverage.
