Kris is Online’s Organizational Change Management Practice Lead. He is a sought after consultant who has established a reputation for delivery excellence with our clients. While Kris has worked with clients across a number of sectors he is passionate about helping our clients in healthcare and has been a senior member of Online’s healthcare transformation projects.

How long have you been an Onliner?

10 years.

What is your main area of expertise?

I consider myself a consultant first and foremost dedicated to helping clients. I have worked as a Business Analyst, Process Specialist, Business Architect, Project Manager and now an Organizational Change Management Lead. I believe the mix of skills and experiences I have across industries allow me to understand clients and give them the advice they need to identify and solve their biggest problems.

What education do you have? What certifications do you hold?

I have a Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Computer Science and I am a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). I am also a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) with the IIBA as well as a certified Prince2 Practitioner in Project Management. Finally I have the Prosci Change Management and Enterprise Change Management Certificates as well as ITIL v3 Foundation, Toastmasters Competent Communicator and Health Level 7 (HL7) certificates.

What made you want to work at Online?

When I was finishing my graduate schooling and looking for a career change the only place I applied was Online. Online’s reputation for hiring the best of the best combined with my past experiences with Onliners made it the one place I wanted to work.

Why do clients love Online?

Online (and Onliners) is committed to doing what is best for the client; sometimes that means we make difficult recommendations when necessary. Many of our clients make us the first place they call and ask for consultants they have worked with in the past by name.

Why do you like working at Online?

The top notch people I get to work with on some of the most challenging client projects.

What Online project or other accomplishment are you most proud of? Why?

I was part of the recent initiative to move the largest health care facility in our province from managing their day to day operations on an ancient mainframe to a modern, integrated system – including all of the business changes that go along with that. Under incredible pressure from above and tight timelines, a team of Onliners, client staff and other consultants moved over 7000 staff to the new way of doing things with minimal impacts to patient care. The improvements introduced by this work were immediately seen in helping to better manage patients in their journey across the health care campus, better tracking of infectious diseases, and access to things like x-rays and lab results at a doctor’s fingertips whenever they needed them.  This work was very important to me as there are real and tangible impacts to the public when they find themselves in the last place they really want to be; knowing that someday I will likely rely on those services makes it very personal. The whole team felt like we made a real difference.

What relaxes you?

Time away from it all on the golf course, canoeing, or hiking.

What are four jobs you’ve had in your life?

Gas Jockey, Phone Survey Operator, Warehouse Shipper/Receiver, Tae Kwon Do Instructor.

What will we typically find you doing if you’re not working?

Spending time with my family.

What’s the riskiest thing you’ve done?

Nighttime cliff diving under a full moon – youthful courage!
